I must say that last week was rough for me on a few of my routines. When I went to see my brother at graduation in Atlanta the weekend before last I didn’t exercise even though the hotel had a gym. And that’s when it started. I woke up late Monday morning, didn’t exercise my full 30 minutes and then didn’t exercise the rest of the week. I kept putting it off.
Then this weekend for Mother’s Day my dad took my brothers, mom and I to Universal and Islands of Adventure. I didn’t go to the gym any this weekend as well. Even though I did walk a good bit at the park. On the upside, I didn’t feel as tired as I normally have in the past on those kind of trips. So that’s small progress in and of itself.
Overall, I kept my eating pretty good. I got the healthiest options on Friday. On Saturday I had a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch in the park. I let it slip and as a snack had a full high-fructose filled Coke, a cookie, and a churro. Sunday we went to lunch at Olive Garden ( mom’s choice - she loves it there ) and my brother pointed out there “healthy choices” menu. Wasn’t much to choose from - I mean it is pasta. I ended up getting the “Mixed Grill” ( all chicken ) which was 660 Calories as I substituted the potatoes for broccoli. That was delicious.
Health wise, it was a week of challenges, set backs with exercise, and tempting eating choices but I made it. As a plus, I weighed myself this morning and I’m at 149 lbs! I almost couldn’t believe it. I weighed myself three times just to make sure. Feels amazing to begin it with “one fourty “. That was a two pound loss.
This week I plan to be in the gym everyday. I was on the treadmill for 30 minutes this morning. I also started doing 20 half-push ups today. I will do those every day this week. And then increase from there.
