    I always like to keep stocked:

    • Lean meats: turkey breasts, skinless chicken breasts, trim cuts of beef and tilapia.
    • Veggies: Bags of lettuce ( Whole heads are fine too but sometimes you just want a quick salad. avoid the bags with a ton of carrots or croutons. ), cucumbers — good for snacks as sticks or to throw in a salad, broccoli and fresh green beans.
    • Fruits: Limit the amount ( fructose ) but still great as a quick snack. Apples, red grapes and oranges are my favorites.
    • Staples: I also like to keep extra virgin olive oil on hand. Great for cooking and use with salads. I limit the salt. However, I do love using lemon pepper for seasoning.

    This is just off the top of my head but I definitely will return to the subject in a more in-depth post.

    Quick tip too. I like to go shopping at the local Mexican Grocery store near me. The prices are great. Also, the meat is cut to order, plenty of fresh vegetables, and a friendly staff keeps me coming back. Got to love local.
